Submitting an Article

If you would like to submit an article for consideration and to be published on iLunchBox please review the following guidelines.

Article Proposal

Send us an e-mail outlining/describing your proposed article so iLunchBox can be sure the topic is on target with the site's editorial needs. Please direct queries to content@ilunchbox.com.

Length

Your article should be between 750 and 900 words.  If articles are much larger, they can be broken down into a series to be pulished in sequenal weeks.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submit all articles in electronic format to content@ilunchbox.com. Please type “article for submission” in the subject line of your email.
  • Your document should be in Word (.doc) format.
  • All documents should be single-spaced and left justified.
  • Do not underline or bold text.
  • Only use italics when referring to titles.
  • Use bulleted lists whenever possible. Use the bullets/numbering feature in Word to format.
  • Double space between paragraphs, do not use the tab at the beginning of a paragraph.
  • Do not insert images or clipart in your document. Images should be submitted in .jpeg format as separate files.
  • Each article should include a title, not in all caps.
  • Article submission implies author agreement to be published in iLunchBox and has the right to submit an article to be published.
  • iLunchbox may allow the reprinting of original articles in other publications with prior approval.
  • iLunchbox reserves the right to alter any accepted articles for clarity and adherence to iLunchbox’s editorial style. Article submission implies author agreement with this policy. iLunchbox does not provide authors with proofs of edited versions of their articles.
  • iLunchbox will accept only previously published articles, with written approval from the publisher or author to reprint the article.
  • Articles must be non-promotional in nature. The editors will delete references to product brand names in articles or recipes, unless essential to the content of the article.
  • A brief biographical description will appear at the bottom of the article to recognize the author. This text may include a link to the author's website or the author's e-mail address.
