Crispy Hearts

Note/Suggestion: to make this gluten free use EnviroKids Koala Krisps or Coco PebblesMakes about 10 2 inch hearts.

Ingredients
  • 16 ounces chocolate chips (semi sweet, milk, or white will work, your choice)
  • 4 cups Rice Krispies
Directions:
  1. Create a double boiler by putting about 2 inches of water into a medium sized sauce pan and bring to a simmer. Put a heatproof bowl over the sauce pan so it fits nicely in the pan, but not touching the water.
  2. Put the chocolate in the bowl of the double boiler and melt.
  3. Gently stir in the Rice Krispies until evenly coated. Add more cereal a little at a time if needed.
  4. Place the chocolate-cereal mixture into an 9 x 11 baking dish, cover and refrigerate for about ½ hour or until firm to the touch. Use heart shaped cookie cutters to create individual treats, or put the mixture into on large heart shaped dish to create one heart to share.
