Cranberry Maple Sauce

Makes about 4 2/3 Cups.

Ingredients:

  • 2 - 12 oz. packages of fresh cranberries
  • 1 1/2 Cups pure maple syrup
  • 1 Cup packed golden brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 3/4 teaspoon maple extract (wish Spice Hunter made this)

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a heavy, large saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring often.
  2. Reduce heat to medium; simmer until cranberries pop, stirring often, about 10 - 12 minutes.
  3. Transfer to a large bowl or several small bowls. Cool completely. Cover & chill.
  4. Can be made 5 days ahead and freezes beautifully.
