Lemon-Lime Sorbet
Notes: Makes a little more than 3 cups. If in a real pinch, use lemonade and limeade and freeze using an ice cream maker. It won’t have as an intense flav, but it will be tasty.Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups caster or fine granulated sugar
- 1 ½ cups cold water
- 1 ½ cup freshly squeezed juice lemons and limes (about 2 -3 each)
- 2 tsp lemon zest
- 2 tsp lime zest
- Zest a lemon and lime and put the zest a side.
- Juice the lemons and limes.
- In a small saucepan make a simple syrup by melting the sugar in the water over a medium heat. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and cool completely.
- Add the juice and zest and stir to combine,
- Chill mixture in the refrigerator until cold.
- Set up ice cream maker according to the manufacture's instructions. Freeze according to the instructions.
- Sorbet should be kept in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to serve.
