Two-Three Chili
Note/Suggestions: This is called Two-Three Chili because it has two different meats and 3 different types of beans. You could change up the meat and beans to make suit your tastes.Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb lean smoked sausage, like kielbasa or linguisa
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 2 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14.5 oz)can northern beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 (14.5 oz)cans pinto beans , drained and rinsed
- 1 (14.5 oz)can butter beans, drained and rinsed
- 3 Tbsp cayenne pepper (more if you like a spicier chili)
- 3 Tbsp garlic salt
- 4 Tbsp chili powder
- In a large Dutch oven or heavy pot, heat the oil and sauté the turkey and sausage until they are almost cooked through. Drain off some of the fat if you can.
- Add the onions and bell peppers and cook until they are softened and translucent.
- Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook for about 45 minutes.
