Two-Three Chili

Note/Suggestions: This is called Two-Three Chili because it has two different meats and 3 different types of beans. You could change up the meat and beans to make suit your tastes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb lean smoked sausage, like kielbasa or linguisa
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz)can northern beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 (14.5 oz)cans pinto beans , drained and rinsed
  • 1 (14.5 oz)can butter beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3 Tbsp cayenne pepper (more if you like a spicier chili)
  • 3 Tbsp garlic salt
  • 4 Tbsp chili powder
Directions:
  1. In a large Dutch oven or heavy pot, heat the oil and sauté the turkey and sausage until they are almost cooked through. Drain off some of the fat if you can.
  2. Add the onions and bell peppers and cook until they are softened and translucent.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook for about 45 minutes.
