Yogurt Oat Bread
Ingredients:
- 1 Tbls of vegetable oil
- 2 ¾ cups rolled oats, plus extra for the top
- 1 cup white wheat flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 ¼ cup milk
Directions:
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees and spray the bottom and sides of a loaf pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl whisk together the flours, oats, salt, cream of tartar, baking soda and baking powder.
- In the bowl of a large standing mixer, fitted with a paddle, combine the milk, honey, yogurt and oil.
- Slowly add the flour mixture until a smooth soft dough forms.
- Pour the dough into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out so it is evenly distributed in the pan. Sprinkle the top with the extra oatmeal.
- Bake for one hour or until the bread is golden brown and the sides start coming away from the pan.
