Yogurt Oat Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbls of vegetable oil
  • 2 ¾ cups rolled oats, plus extra for the top
  • 1 cup white wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 ¼ cup milk

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees and spray the bottom and sides of a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl whisk together the flours, oats, salt, cream of tartar, baking soda and baking powder.
  3. In the bowl of a large standing mixer, fitted with a paddle, combine the milk, honey, yogurt and oil.
  4. Slowly add the flour mixture until a smooth soft dough forms.
  5. Pour the dough into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out so it is evenly distributed in the pan. Sprinkle the top with the extra oatmeal.
  6. Bake for one hour or until the bread is golden brown and the sides start coming away from the pan.
