Baked Apples

Notes/Suggestions: This recipe has no exact measurements, just proportions. Makes about 4 large apples. Adjust accordingly.

Ingredients:

  • 4 large apples, cored, but not peeled
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 6 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Raisins
  • 2 tbsp Walnuts, chopped
  • ¼ cup apple juice or water
  • 1 tsp butter, cut into 4

Directions:

  1. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Combine the spices, sugar, raisins and walnuts together and press into the center of each apple until filled to the top.
  3. Place in a baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray or greased with butter.
  4. Pour ¼ cup of apple juice of water in the bottom of the baking dish.
  5. Put a small piece of butter on top of each apple.
  6. Bake for 40 minute or until bubbling and tender when pierced with a fork.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with Ice cream or frozen yogurt.
