Heros of the Lunch Revolution
There are people in our communities that are improving the well being of our children one small step at a time. They often go unnoticed as their undertaking is done in small steps, however it is important and they should be recognized. Is there someone in your community that has planted a school garden, or improved the snack policy? Maybe someone that has been instrumental in improving your school’s hot lunch program or has helped improved the quality of the food eaten by lower income families in your community. Has a parent or grandparent volunteered to teach cooking or nutrition in the classroom? Maybe there is a child that brings a snack for a friend that doesn’t seem to bring a snack each day. Write in and tell us their story. Give them their 15 minutes of fame and accolades on the world wide web; let them know they are appreciated. We at iLunchBox want to say thanks for all their hard work and caring. Submit your stories here.
